I know there's another thread on this topic but this is about the actual procedure to vote. I am returning home in a couple of years and for the first time abroad I would like to vote. I have been away for less than the 15 year limit.

I cannot even remember if I am on the electoral register, although as I paid poll tax back in the day I would assume I am.

How do I go about casting a vote from over here? I know I could Google this but I was wondering if anyone had already found out how or had already done it last time round.

You are too late to register now, E17. I think the ER closed a few days go for 5th May.

OK but if I am already on the register from years back...

The ER is only valid for a year at a time. It gets redone every October, I think.
