For all you Tivo people out there and I know I'm not alone roll have you had the chance to mess around with tivo to go?

Tivo have some user protections built into the transfers you make to your PC so you have to enter a password with every view. I found with removing that tivo wrapper around the mpeg you can convert it any way you please so now I can watch TV shows on my PSP (this house loves it's toys!) along with the laptop.

All the Direct TV Tivo units will never get this service as tivo only gets about a dollar fifty a month for these so the full service just became worth while. As a side note, does anyone have a HD DVR to comment on?

We got a DVR box from Charter on Friday. All was going tickety-boo and wonderful until Tuesday evening when I was embroiled in House and taping The Office. At 9.20 the screen went black, then within a few seconds it booted up again. Great, I thought, a temporary glitch. Not so...the damn thing did this maybe 10 or 12 times, so I called Tech Support and spoke to Ben (aged about 12 roll ) who was more concerned with keeping me talking as he thought my accent was cool ( roll ) declared that he'd never heard of this happening before and told me that they couldn't get anyone out before Thursday afternoon!

We now just have the co-ax channels to go at, which isn't too bad actually. Makes you think that all you're actually paying for is movie channels, BBCAmerica and a nifty TV guide. I can't actually tell the difference in the quality of the picture! o

I feel for Ya, I had one of those Time Warner Cable DVR's. It sounded like the dish washer running all the time, heck knows where you find a hard drive that loud!

Be warned Not all TiVos are TiVos. As Mitch explained, DirecTV users don't get the To Go service, and you only get it if you get a newer box not an old one.

I'm just grateful I can watch programs without the bloody commercials that have turned me into someone with ADD. Before I would get up in the middle of a perfectly good programme and go do something different, just because I wanted to get away from commercials!
