There's one I missed on my dead pool list...
I met him for about 2 seconds in 1997 when he came to my firm's offices once when I was practicing law in LA. Given that my firm was a big corporate law firm my immediate thought was, "oh, which of our clients is he suing." But it turned out he was our co-counsel on some pro-bono human rights thing we were doing.
Although its easy to be cynical about him, he did do pleanty of good in his life in his human rights work and his public service.
