Hi all.....
Sometime lurker.....like to pop in now and then to check in with reality.....
Been in the US ten years .....came in as a youngster on a J1 and somehow wangled myself sponsorship and a green card (thank god for a British boss!) and this year will apply for citizenship.
After a 2 year stint on the West Coast, 4 months in Sydney Aus , 3 months in Houston and 3 months in New York, I have been in Masstaxachusetts for 7 years, living in sin with a yank. Luckily for me he loves anything British and I often come home to find Cadbury's chocs, clotted cream and typhoo teabags from some Brit website he found! Thank god I live with an ecommerce nerd!
I am a Lancashire lass originally, although alas my accent is deceiving (always has been). I get back quite a bit and still get a lot of visitors to keep me in endless supply of "necessities"! Even dragged the other half to Blackpool for a visit once (cackle!)
I don't have many complaints about living here yet I am always a 'little' homesick. My dad is a Glaswegian, has lived in England more years than up there and yet he still bawls every hogmany for Scotland....so I can now relate!
Looking forward to chatting with everyone. I have wittered on too much already!
Lindylou xx
