Ok guys save me from comcast cable here in Atlanta, I dream of Time Warner back in NC after this rubbish and Direct TV is my other option.
Moving to the new house (Yay!) next month and was wondering what your dish experiences have been. Does anyone have HD on DTV? with bad weather outages an issue with dish I was wondering if the higher bandwith got even picker watching HD. Its a good deal packaging DSL phone and dish together but will I be making a deal with the devil, better known as comcast in my house lol
Funny. After having had Comcast in GA, and getting Times Warner in OH, I much preferred Comcast, though that was mainly because the Cable Modem connection seemed better at Comcast. I've even switched cable companies from TW to WOW! here because TW seemed to suck.
I ve had direct tv for 8 years now and would never go back to cable . yes there is a problem sometimes with outages in bad weather but no more than my nieghbours get from cable for one reason another .
The cost is LESS per channel then cable and direct has more premium options sunday ticket , etc then i could get with cable .
All of the changes you wish to make are done with a phone call and most technical problems are solved that way to .
1m waiting for the cost to come down on the new technology for using directv for internet access ,and phone service.
I do need to have a land line phone connected to the directv box to receive premium channels, but when the technology for that is available ill cancel my land line phone saving another over prices ,over taxed service .
The tax on sattalite service is far less intrusive than conventional land line services .

Gotta say the comcast internet is slower than advertised, but if your wanna get me ranting tell me how good the TV side is!
Lets talk about the 80's boat anchor that subs for a cable box round here and that cable guide, did they have that knocked up on a BBCB back in 84?? x Tell me you can find something on TV with comcast in seconds rather than minutes and I will eat my hat.
Even the guy that installed it looked at me like an alien when I asked how to get the picture and guide up at the same time, you will need two boxes for that was the answer o Grrr now I'm mad thinking about it D
:D :D Oh well, guess it was better in Savannah, GA than Atlanta. When I had TW here, the dang thing went out every 5 minutes (both cable and TV). When you work from home and need the cable connection its extremely frustrating.
But then we did have that cable box on Comcast... :)

Weird, we had more problems with WOW than TW. TW has been fine for us, internet connection is pretty quick.
We have HD on Direct TV. Super-sharp pics and although there are only a few HD channels at the moment, they're about to launch a heap more. Yay! Yes, the reception sometimes vanishes in bad weather, but not as often as our friend's does, and he has cable. Our DSL is through Bellsouth and we also have wireless networking with them.

Hey Placid. Long time no see... My WOW internet connection and cable TV have been great since I switched. A few bucks cheaper too...

Not had much time to mess about on the internet and when i do i tend to hang out at bigsoccer and wind the yanks up.
WE got a decent deal with TW, also after we moved we cannot get WOW here. So kinda stuck!!
