With today's display of several prolific baseball players taking the Fifth Ammendment seemingly each time they were asked in Washington DC about steroid use, is this a new low for sports here?
I recall the big slug-out between Sosa and McGuire when I first came here and was immersing myself in many things American. I couldn't really understand the fuss but later realised that it was breathing life back into a sport that was on the decline.
Now it all looks staged, fake and what did it actually achieve?
A panel member today suggested that records should be stripped, of which the players bitterly complained, yet McGuire didn't even have the guts to admit either way whether he took steroids or not.
We can all draw our own conclusions I suppose and my conclusion is that he did and his record should be deleted.
