Does anyone know how I can get my daughter joint British and American citizenship. She was born in the US 2 months ago but I would like to register her to be a citizen of both America and Britain so she can have the best of both parents worlds.
Thanks

Thanks Wendy (and G too for asking the question wink ) I'm going to be needing this myself soon. You've saved me some searching there.

Thanks
My daughter is American by virtue of her mother being American, and the fact that she was born here. I sent in those forms to register her birth with the British authorities to enable her to have UK citizenship also. They sent them back, saying it's best to wait until she is 18 and can apply herself - they said it would be cheaper & easier, and that there was no reason to do it before then unless we were intending on returning to the UK to live (which we aren't) before she turns 18. Who knows, maybe they were pulling a fast one on me?
Thanks was I will look into it further before I send the forms in.
Oh and good luck with the baby Nell.
