What makes these people go to such expense in order to satisfy a perverted urge?

A Texas man has been arrested at a local hotel, after Ottawa Police learned that a 14-year old boy was in a room with him.
Police were called in Sunday.
It's believed the man met the boy on the internet, and arranged to meet him without his parents' knowledge.
31 year old Eric Beckham is charged with luring a child under the age of sixteen via computer, and abduction of a child under the age of sixteen.
