Since the last thread on this erupted into another fight and got locked up again, there was something I wanted to add to this topic.
I agree that DP for minors is just not on in any country that has the means to make that person a decent member of the population again. However I do still see alot that disagree on the DP for various reasons, but really how can you. Having had a family member stabbed in the front and back 32 times and the offender (in the UK) free after 8 years served does not do it for me. I think the only issue here is the justice system and way death is handed out. Prove it and I dont mean in a Peterson type of way, you gotta have a smoking gun to fry them to avoid a miscarrage.
Unfortunatly the US justice system is baised on how much you spend on your defence relates to how guilty you are. I agree the current system needs a nationwide halt to the DP untill reform is metered in and then bring it back with national but not federal legal provisions. Also injection should be the only human way to carry out the DP. It doesent come down to revenge not even for me, but the gas and electric chairs are horrific.
