This week, starting yesterday, my household is a "Neilsen Family" so we get to report our viewing to create the ratings. From what I have read before, one vote for translates into thousands of viewers in the ratings. Such power! I can kill or rescue shows on a whim! Well, maybe not, by at least I can give Real Time, The Daily Show and The L Word a boost.

No danger of that happening. You may also be pleased to hear that no reality TV shows are in our viewing plans. A thousand more like me and Donald Trump and Simon Callow could be off our airwaves for ever!
Does Nielsen track when you watch DVDs or videos as well?
It wouldn't be stretching it too much in our house to not actually watch any TV although it is on for a couple of hours each day with stuff we've bought or been sent.
I worked for a Nielsen competitor in UK a few years back and we were suing them for being too monopolistic - not sure what happened in the end but the European Court jumped on them for it too.
Have they started showing the US version of "The Office" then?
