I am heading back to the UK in 2 weeks for a short visit (2 weeks).
Does anyone know if I will have a any problems returning to the US when I am done. I have been a legal resident since June and have ID to prove that fact. My wife thinks it will be fine but it would be nice if someone who has had experience of this could put my mind at ease.
Thanks
What Visa do you have?
I've travelled in and out between 5-10 times each year on various visas, H1, L1, B1 ,over the last 5 years and never really had a problem........

....and where are you up to with your PR status?

Valid (temporary) stamp in passport and/or current Permanent Resident (Green Card) = no problems whatsoever in my experience.

Only problems I had was travelling on an extension document when I had a case pending and that was more down to the INS (as was) agents inability to recognise their own documentation.
You're asking the wrong man about Visa numbers, I will have to look that one up. I can tell you I completed all my paper work in the UK and was given permission to move to the US. On arrival at Customs I was told that my visa was good for 2 years and that at the end of 2 years I need to inform Immigration I am still married to the same woman and my status would be adjusted.
I was also issued with a permanent Residents ID card that expires at the end of my first 2 years in the country.
I hope this helps if not I will look up all the numbers and get back to you all
The card should do it then. They'll maybe look at your passport, take the card from you, swipe it and that should be that.

I find you get less questions with the card as well.
As long as you have the card with you and your passport there will be no problem as you are married to a US citizen and have the 2-year visa for Permanent Residency.

You'll be asked to present both the card and the passport when leaving the UK and when entering the US.
FYI - you came over on a K1 visa, but you are now a conditional permanent resident. As others have said, as long as the expiration date on your 'green card' is after you travel, you're golden!
Thank you all guys, I will sleep easier tonight and also be able to set my parents minds at ease they thought they were going to get stuck with me again for good !!
