Does anyone know what it is called here? Would like to make dumplings...

Thank you
In my experience, they don't cook with it here -they feed it to birds. You need to go to a Brit shop and get Atora just like "back home".
or you might be able to faff about with shortening and flour to concoct something
American dumplings aren't a bad substitute. They aren't as dense as british ones if I remember correctly (only ever made them once) but they are good for those cold days.

If you want the recipe, I could hunt it out for you)

However, as monster said, try shortening - put a dollup in the fridge or freezer to make it go hard, then grate it. Instant suet. OK not beef suet but could work D
Thank you
It is sold in the US as "rendered beef suet" and as aready stated, is sold as a bird feed. Several on line shops have told me that Atora cannot be imported into the US. This rendered beef suet seems to be exactly the same as Atora although I have yet to try it.
Would rendered beef suet for birds be fit for human consumption though?
I've seen it here I think . . will look on my next "English Food" shop
