I sold a few beads on eBay at the end of August. i paid them for the privilege of using their service. They have continued to bill me ever since even though I haven't used them again. last month I thought I'd hit pay dirt. i got an apologetic email saying sorry we screwed up here's your money back it's all over. Today they began again. i'm just printing out our correspondence to send to their Denver office. All 25 pages of it. It would appear the local office doesn't have the attention span to deal with the problem.
Would I use eBay again. Not on your life. Would i reccomend it to anyone, certainly not. Would i use Paypal, well, i have no choice at the moment, but I'd really like to see them as separate entities. They are supposed to be.

eBay, crippling and stealing from small businesses as a matter of course. Bar stewards. evil evil evil
Bad luck Annie - you already know my view of both those entities. They have yet to steal from me but we have crossed swords and their sword is pretty hefty.

I wish there was something in between the usual merchant credit card services and Pay Pal - how hard can it be to set up a Pay Pal type thing but remove the Nazification that came along when eBay bought them up? I used them years back and they were pretty decent but things changed after the sale.
And yesterday I got a telephone message from NCO financial services and today a letter asking me for the money I owe, they're a debt collection agency, money I owe to whom ask I, eBay they say.

This is what I received from them ( eBay) after innumerable emails, all answered by different people, who had all been told that they were not accessing my account for payment but one I had never heard of.

Hello Annie,

Thanks for taking the time to write in to Bill Cobb. Bill has requested
that I respond on his behalf.

I've reviewed your account status page and see that your fee of $0.19
was due to a late payment fee on February 1. However, this charge has
been credited to your account on February 16. Your balance is now $0.00
and your account is no longer past due.

Thanks again for writing in. It is much appreciated.

Best Regards,

Randy F. on behalf of Bill Cobb
President
eBay North America

From what I hear it'd beat Brokeback,

I bought a book, a Bible study book no less, from an entity called Mega Media Depot back in July. I never received it. Last time I checked this abuser had 500 negative points for the last month's transactions. And still trading.

eBay is doing nothing about my lost $16. So they DO look after the small businesses (they must be small or they would be able to handle 3000 transactions a month). Unfortunately in my case they screw the poor buyer.
ebay get off the hook quite a bit with their claim that they are only the facilitator and the technicalities of the sale are down to the buyer and seller.

Can't say I've had too many problems with them lately. I got them to stop removing my listings for 1/6 scale model guns eventually - I think the competition were getting upset with me and reporting them as if they were for real guns which are of course banned.

One time Turbo Lister got updated and it screwed up how the decimal point goes in on an item I was editing for upload. Instead of listing at $10.00, it listed at $100. I corrected it immediately but you get charged a listing fee that is linked to the initial listing price so I was getting hosed on that. I did eventually get someone to fix this problem but they basically made out it was all my fault and it was just a one-off courtesy that they would give me the excess money back.

Sales-wise, I haven't had anything go wrong buying or selling. It seems to run like clock-work nowadays. I list around 20 items a week and turn a small profit but it's more for fun really.

gods behind that send him a dissatifaction letter

Ive used e bay for years buying and selling and never had any problems .
Doesnt mean that your complaints are not genuine and shared by other customer. i could just be one of the lucky ones

I do however only use PAYPAL if its the only obtion and the sale is extreamly important .

its excessive in its fees and not to secure as to your information .
My dad bought something on ebay a few weeks back for his car and the individual selling the item used his credit card information to fraudulently order stuff with.

Dad's credit card company jumped on it immediately and refunded him - they'd apparently been investigating the person for a while but it is quite a wake-up call.

I'm a bit obsessive about my money and pretty much watch my accounts online most days but that's something new that hasn't always been available.

I forgot to laugh, sorry.

Only one "person" is behind that. Someone who doesn't want me to learn anything more.
