I've got an L1 VISA and my wife has a VISA through me. We have just had them renewed (using a US lawyer) .

Now we have to get our passports updated. This is problematic - in that returning to the UK in Jan it seems the waiting time (between appointment and return of passport) is 7 days.

We would have nothing much to do in London - since any trip to Europe would be to see relatives and combined with a holiday- my folks live in Ireland and hers in Italy. Without passports we would not be able to travel to visit either (the only photo ID we have is the passports).

I've been doing some research. I think I can get the passport updated from any embassy outside the US. My lawyer says that each have different policies and wait times.
Has anyone renewed their passport Visa stamp from any country other than the UK? Did this confuse everyone and lead to unplanned delays?

Has anyone gone to Canada to renew the passport info? How long did it take?

Cheers
Yup.

We went up to Toronto last November for our Visa Renewal. Arrived on the Friday at 10.00am, did the do...paid the dosh....the guy asked if we'd like them back that afternoon, we said yes please and got them back at 4.30pm and returned home the next day.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy. D

I too went to Vancouver and did everything on the same day so it was easy.

Also got one done in London this year and although they say it takes 7 days had mine back in 2.....

Thanks so much. This confirms my research.
I did look at Mexico - but that has a waiting time of 4 weeks!.

Look like Canada for us in January. We went to Montreal in the Summer and loved it. I heard Vancouver is interesting too - though wrap up warm I guess.
