Here's the clip that made me wonder what the hell is going on,

But there's another, more insidious game being played as well. The F.C.C. and the family values crusaders alike are cooking their numbers. The first empirical evidence was provided this month by Jeff Jarvis, a former TV Guide critic turned blogger. He had the ingenious idea of filing a Freedom of Information Act request to see the actual viewer complaints that drove the F.C.C. to threaten Fox and its affiliates with the largest indecency fine to date - $1.2 million for the sins of a now-defunct reality program called "Married by America." Though the F.C.C. had cited 159 public complaints in its legal case against Fox, the documents obtained by Mr. Jarvis showed that there were actually only 90 complaints, written by 23 individuals. Of those 23, all but 2 were identical repetitions of a form letter posted by the Parents Television Council. In other words, the total of actual, discrete complaints about "Married by America" was 3.

See that number, 3, as in three, as in all America, THREE,

A simpler approach would be to just get Fox shut down - I'd sign that one wink
As long as someone else was willing to pick up the Simpsons.

I'd be willing to write my own letter.

Do you think Fox viewers can write? Pehaps thats why they all have to sign the same pre-written letter.

People seem to forget that they a choice to NOT WATCH IT. I'm very careful about what my 11 and 5 yo kids see on telly. After they've gone to bed though...

...on goes the Playboy channel! 8)
i dont think that *adult * programming should only be available ...after your kids go to bed ....what if some folks choice to watch it during day time or work at night etc etc .. why should ANYBODYS choice be resticted cus some parents cant or WONT control what their kids watch .. most tvs have a devise to restict viewing that can be switched of when or if adults decide to watch something more fruity then the insipid trash the networks put out day after day .

the resticting (censoring ) devise is available on even the most inexpensive tv ...USE IT .

howard stern is on when kids are going to school and in class,(early mornings ) but the fcc are still going kung ho after him ...
yet ophra winfry(sp) had a program on at 4 00 pm (when kids are home ) discussing in graphic detail what a *blow job is * no action was taken ..

So should adult material not be available in puiblic libraries in case * a kid gets to read it * ???? once again if the perants who complain take more interest spend the time execise control of what there kids see and read they would not have the time to sit down and write a letter of complaint and would have no reason to .

Of course that depends on your frame of reference and if you see the political spectrum as linear or circular.

I see the political spectrum as enemies.
