She led me kicking and screaming to this BB, really, she did. o
And yes, really, our parents were super-creative, naming us Fernietickles and Bubblyjock, and yes, we do attend group-therapy on an ongoing basis.
We came to North America to escape our dreadful past, in Stirlingshire, Scotland, and to follow our menfolk, just like those pioneers of yore.
She went to the land of the free, while I came to the land of double-taxes, free-until-you-fall-sick health care, Tim Horton's coffee, banned Barenaked Ladies, and not-at-all-bad-but-not-McKellar-Watties sausages.
I work for a public library and a bakery - one for money, one for sanity.
I love maple syrup, Winners, fall colours, Canadian wines. I miss decent chocolate, and did I mention, good sausages?
You know you're a true ex-pat when you don't need to head home just to buy M&S knickers.
The greatest event of my little life so far was discovering that I missed "National Sausage Week" a couple of weeks ago, and making an enormous display at the library to celebrate all things sausagy, much to the total consternation of patrons and staff alike.
