Of course they do. Next time round the Democrats might find a half-decent candidate and if the US isn't out of Iraq soon the Republicans will have there arses handed to them on a plate... unless of course Al-Queda does something stupid.
A report out this week shows that the Army National Guard are missing their recruitment targets for the second year running.
Too early to call this a "disaster" but I can't see the recruiters turning this one around until National Guard units are put back to doing what they do best - filling in at their home states for active-duty troops who are sent elsewhere.
