Yes Okay, its is a feeble attempt to facsimilate Andy's 'NFL the end of the season is nigh' link but I'm not that talented!! lol
Anyhoo...
I just thought I'd ask you fine people if you have any clue now as to who do you think is going to win the Premiership or actually if you give a fig?? And of course not forgetting the Nationwide which of course as you know our esteemed colleague the Pilgrim's team Plymouth won the 3rd Division back a while ago!!
Man City of course has won the first division and The Baggies beat Palace today to get the other automatic promotion place. so its between The Blues, The Canaries, Wolves and of course mighty Millwall to go into the play offs!!
In the 2nd division Brighton won the league and Reading got the runners up spot and Brentford, Cardiff, Stoke and Huddersfield are left to battle it out in the play offs.
And of course some west country team roll won the 3rd division title with Mnasfield as the runners up and Cheltenham (not far from where I used to live) have to go through the play off lottery with Rochdale, Rushdon & Diamonds and Hartlepool.
In the conference things arent over yet but its a close run thing with Boston and Dagenham & Redbridge battling it out with only a 2 point gap between the two!!
Burton Albion has won the Unibond league so theyll be playing in the conference and in the Dr. Martins its another close run thing between Tamworth and Kettering who are both stuck on 84 points and my hometown team Worcester City are stuck in 6th place sad
Finally in the Ryman League, Canvey island and Gravesend are left to slug it out with one game left Gravesend has the advantage over 'the islanders' by 1 point!!
Oh and finally, that Premiership division thing, it looks like its a 3 horse race with Arsenal looking good and Liverpool hanging in there and Man Utd still looking ominous!!and I suppose there's european places still being fought over, and now it seems that the relegation situation has been addressed with Leicester, Derby and maybe Ipswich going down.
Do you think this season has been a good season or disappointing?
Do you agree with the play off system where fans love and hate them, and the clubs and the league like because of extra revinue and interest in their respective leagues?
Or do you think I'm just talking crap and should go and do the washing up and think about fairy washing up liquid!!!!! (Now hands that do dishes can feel as soft as you face with mild green fairy liquid!!) (sorry about that folks!!)
Now I know I left the relegation thing out it was worse enough typing all this stuff out!! lol
So come on lets have your play off predictions and vent either your anger and flustration or your love of the beautiful game!!!lol

all the best
Alan

I sort of gave up on the season after Spurs had that dismal period. I guess I am cheering for either ManU or Liverpool only because if they won it they would prevent the Ar!@#l from getting it. Though I don't hold out much hope. I watched them play Ipswich today and had hope until the 7oth minute. Now it's down to the Hammers on Wednesday.
Going to have a big party for the FA Cup and will rooting for the Blues to beat the scum.

The only other interest was seeing the Gills stay in the 1st. Div. Just waiting for the World Cup, I got me a Canadian satellite dish so I can get the games with British announcers.

I would prefer Liverpool to win but think Arsenal will actually take the honours with that vital game in hand. Manchester United can fade into oblivion for all I care.

Indeed - wrapped that up last Monday by winning our game in hand at Darlington. I was gutted I could not get back to Plymouth this weekend for the celebrations but I sent my special envoy (sister) and she has already sent me the photos and bought me lots of souvenirs. There was also the open-top bus tour by the team and civic reception in the City for the all conquering team - 102 points!

Alan - Mansfield finished 3rd because they won their game and Cheltenham lost at Plymouth. You forgot that Luton were already runners-up. This season, a new rivalry sprang up between Luton and Plymouth, fueled by their manager Joe Kinnear who basically mouthed off all season about how his team were going to take the 3rd Division by storm and writing off all challengers, including Argyle who were basically top all season. He was still doing it last week, suggesting that the PFA team of the season was a sham because only one of his squad was picked and suggesting that Argyle will come straight back down next season while his team storm into the 1st. Can't stand the man and hope he gets to continue eating his words.

Fantastic season for me. Interesting season elsewhere - can't think of anything disappointing. I wish there was better coverage on Sky Sports News. It was a bit galling to see Manchester United's goals no less than three times last night while Plymouth getting the trophy and winning so emphatically barely made it into the opening spiel so I missed most of it

I've been through two playoffs - once as a slightly biased neutral and the other time as a totally biased fan (Reading in '95 and Plymouth in '96). They were great days out and kept the interest going for teams who were chasing the pack - although Reading were very hard done by and had finished in a position that normally would have guaranteed promotion any other season.

Glad to hear you are house trained Alan.

I hope of course that the blues will win the F A Cup .but they will have to play a little better then there dismal performance against United yeaterday ..

Chelsea will win the cup, but as John said they need a lot more motivation than they had against Man U. As for Ipswich, well they have a very slim chance satistically, but after letting Arsenal run all over them yesterday I'm not holding my breath. The only good thing about Arsenals win it helps keep the dreaded M.U. from the number 1 spot.

The only other interest was seeing the Gills stay in the 1st. Div. Just waiting for the World Cup, I got me a Canadian satellite dish so I can get the games with British announcers.

How do you pick up the first Div?. I really miss going to see the blue boys. Even missed them play arsenal in the cup, which i've heard was a blinder. This years Prem race has been much more exciting than previously, I hope Liverpool win myself, but think Arsnal have it pretty much sewn up. Counting the days until the world cup, have even got myself a USA top.

As an exiled Man Utd fan I shall have to stand up for the boys and say of course we will win it!!
Actually, I think its most likely Arsenal, although if we beat them then Liverpool could slip in and pip us both. Not sure which would be worse cry
Still, we are going to win the european cup grin

I think we can allow that as it's representing the country against Johnny Foreigner, as well as the club

as I am a big ARSENAL fan, they will win the the double this year!! only their match against Man U on the 8th of May has me a bit concerned, but they should pull through.

since I used to live near QPR stadium, I still try to follow how they are doing. they haven't faired too poorly in Division 2 this year.
