Just wanted to share with you all. A couple of nights ago the Maidstone town council approved the plan to build a new stadium in Maidstone for Maidstone United. We haven't had a football ground for 15 something years. They've been playing in Dartford and Sittingbourne. My Dad used to take me to games when I was 4-6, mainly so he could go himself and have a few jars with the lads, but it was brilliant. There weren't too many people those days, and you could run around the small terraces, or he'd put me on his shoulders and I would try and sing the songs.
Anyway, the new ground will initially seat 3000 and should be ready in 2006.
And now we should be able to climb up the football pyramid and gain our rightful place playing against the scumbags (Gillingham).
