I usually just have a couple of large coffees and graze the fridge for meats left over from last nights dinner. In really high and hot summer I'll have my coffee and , heaven forfend, fruit. Espcially when figs are ripe.
Round about August i go Greek and have feta and flatbread with olives and about October I switch to Foul medames and flat bread.
When it's this time of year I go for porridge and if I get the latest bug, which I have, i eat nice big greasy bacon sandwiches, working on the theory that bacon fat lubricates a sore throat.
Do you eat breakfast.? Does it change, or are you on auto pilot at that time of day?
I dont have breakfast usually
if I do have something its toast made of wholemeal bread, but I do like a cup of tea or coffee.
My breakfast is the same year round
Either oatmeal or cereal (nothing sugary) with dark colored fruit piled on top - i.e. defrosted organic blueberries, strawberries and raspberries and maybe some walnuts on top.
A very healthy breakfast if I may say so.....but it's all downhill from there! wink lol
During the week I have a cup of black luke warm coffee and that's it.
On Sundays the wife likes to make bacon, eggs & hash browns. I don't normally work Sundays so it's rather nice really.
I don't normally eat until lunchtime so I have brunch instead. Poached eggs on toast, bacon sarnie, sausage sarnie, if hubs is home I might do the whole bacon, eggs, sausage, black pudding, fried slice and baked beans cos he loves it too! At the weekend when the kids are here it can range from pancakes, french toast, bagels, hot pockets or a small fry up. Not wasting a full Brit fry up on them as they think Brit baked beans are toxic looking cos of the orange colour!
I can only stomach tea first thing.
Sarah
Most of the time I stick to some kind of cereal and a large tea.
Rarely on the weekends I might just cook up some sausage or bacon, beans, eggs and fried tomatoes.
Sometimes it's pancakes, american style.
Every now and then during the week I'll cook up a fried egg sandwich.
It doesn't change much throughout the year.
Coffee with smokes. Breakfast o' champions.
