It really wasn't very good to begin with but now it's been well and truly skewered.
6music actually ran it with the warning "It lasts 5 minutes and six seconds if you want to turn off, or do something else."
Still, I suppose I should wish it well and hope that it makes lots of money for, apparently, Darfur, and it's bound to be the Christmas number one.

Yeah I know. The snow line really bothers me. I always end up thinking "Oh, guess it'll just be dry ski-slopes again this year then." Also the line "No rain nor rivers flow" seems to miss the Amazon - the biggest river in the world. And I know the line means well, but when Bono sings "Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you" I always thought "what a heartless git."

I'm certain that Mt Kilimanjaro has some snow.
I don't know about anyone else but when the original came out I was twelve and it seemed a pretty noble thing to do.
However, the words to the song are condescending and when I see some of the people involved this time around I can't help thinking that they are the types that do a lot for charidy but don't like to talk about it, mate.
Simon whatisface from Duran Duran isn't singing & looking hot this time so I don't care. lol lol Have to admit I looked at the list of artists(can you call them that these days) & only recognised 2 names. God I hate getting old. wink lol
