Think it was a very noble speech. Had me in tears. Got to do something to get rid of this dangerous idiology. x

I agree. I do so wish he had won. That man has a fair mind and never speaks without thinking. At least he still has a voice in the Senate.

Tearful in CT too!
KG, I completely agree with your comments. When the campaign first began I just wanted to get rid of Bush but by the end I just really, really wanted Kerry to be President I feel he has so much to offer the people of this country.
Very impressive place to take your oath by the way, Hartford doesn't offer quite the same atmosphere - although I did get to sit in the jury seats which was a bonus - very comfy and excellent swivel mechanism!

Very nice speech. Great line in"In American elections there are no losers, because whether or not our candidates win or lose, the next morning we wake up as Americans."
Sadly Democrats tend to form a circle after defeats and brutally attack each other. According to Begala and Carville Kerry is going to face a serious bloodletting and have the blame laid squarely on his shoulders.

I think they'll look inward, pick themselves up, figure out what went wrong (on issues, presentation and campaigning) and get on with it. I told you - these Repubs are not necessarily right, but better(and brutal) in campaigning. The Dems might need to sink to their level as they've been so successful at it... I don't particularly think Kerry did anything worse than Bush did. The Repubs are expert spinners and brutal campaigners.

Problem is the Dems have so many wings right now. There's the Hillary wing, the Edwards wing, the Dean wing, and I'm sure somewhere in there are normal people most people would like. So it's likely they'll fight the crap out of each other. They always have before. Already today Edwards and Pelosi have effectively started vying for leader of the party status.

I agree with you KG cry
I'm depressed at the thought of another 4 years off Bush - I can't understand how he got so many votes - makes me feel alienated from the majority of Americans and even questioning if I want to live here right now cry

Kerry certainly epitomises "graceful in defeat". Can't believe that Bush got a second term - why, why, why?

Did you see Tony Blair's message after Bush's speech? I think he would have preferred Kerry to have won too.
Surely, though, no-one will forget that half the people in this country voted for Kerry or against Bush at least.............. will they?

That line almost made me barf!!!!!!!!
He is a true loser........

Yeah, as soon as he said it I could see it as bumper sticker headline in bold type for every Republican political blog in America.
I've already read someone say "only losers say there are no losers."

Morph, did you use any stain blocker? One coat of that and then it should only take one coat of whatever paint you want to use.
