Me.... and yes I'll be voting. I can't say it makes me proud to be an American but it does make me feel proud that I am able to participate. D

Not me. Despite having lived here for over six years, the slowness of the immigration system means that I've not put in my five years yet.
I will probably get the opportunity to vote in about 18 months to two years I think.
Oh well - I enjoy observing what goes on regardless.

Got my interview next Monday. Should have the oath ceremony a few weeks after. Just too late... x

Not me. I'm in the process stage at the moment - haven't had my interview date set. Shame - I would have liked to have voted if only for the local level.

I don't but Mr Zed went out and voted at 7am this morning... That's a miracle in itself..........

Was at the polling station with Her Indoors at 630 this morning.
This was my first time.
Have to say I was quite disappointed with the choices on offer.

Well, went with Michelle to give her some moral report. Stood in line for 3 hours and a lot of people just went home without voting becase of the long wait (
Now the fishy thing is this is a district favoring the Democrats. Mother-in-law lives in a heavily Republican neighborhood and it took her 10 minutes. Still it could bode well - maybe it means that not as many Republicans are voting... D

Can't your states get in the 21st century and just mail the ballots in during the preceeding two weeks? roll

I went with a workmate when she voted a few hours ago. She walked into the building, and her name wasn't on the list. So they told her she couldn't vote. There were about 7 or 8 other people who were standing around saying that they were refused to vote also. All of them had ID and their registration cards. As we were walking out my friend saw at the end of the corridoor another room with a few people stood in it. I went and asked if that was also a voting place and they said yes. So I told my colleague to get the other people and to go in the other room. Oddly the area I live in has two district zones voting in the same building. One room is clearly marked, the other one you have to be lucky to see. No arrows, signs, nothing. I asked the woman behind the desk if she'd been busy and she said, I quote -
"No, I thought there would be alot of people but I guess they may come after work."
So it looks like the pillocks in the main room hadn't sent anyone into the other district room. God knows how many people were turned away. So I grabbed a pen and wrote a note on the door on the way in saying "District 27 to the right."

Well done Bungle.

That's terrible bungle - I'm glad you did that though. It makes you wonder really how well this system really works, doesn't it.
I'm glad to say my voting experiences here are very positive - and no lines for me today, although hubby had to line up a couple of hours earlier.

Or enable early voting like Florida. Absolute madness. What with the antique voting machines, it would be nice if we could get out of the 19th century first. :D
