8) Do you concider yourself to be the Objective type?

I consider myself to be totally Objective and thats why I do not pull for one party or another. I tend to look at what each side is saying, then consider what I think is best and then vote.

Most of the news would consider me as a swing voter. I don't see that at all. I consider myself as a thoughtfull voter, maybe a more well read voter, rather than those that follow a Party no matter what.

If everyone was completey Objective, do you think we would have a better Government?

I often think of the day when we can all vote on particular issue's, rather than leave it up to congress etc.
Sorry, but I don't think there such a thing as true objectivity in the context you are writing about.

To me objectivity is something you can always strive for and even come pretty close but never quite achieve.
I don't see how anyone can be truly objective. We are all subjected to so much news and information, that we tend to lean towards that which we see as believable.

Most of us have formed a political belief by the time we reach our late 20's and rarely change.
8) All that being true keith. But if you saw something in the news, that seemed to interest you, do you not go out to other sights etc to see how they report the same thing and then make your mind up? or do you just take what it says as fact etc.

Politics I am totally Objective about. I have area's that I am passionate about, but even these I always take a step back sometimes.

Why am Objective, mostly due to my previous career.

But being objective I find healthy (well in my case that is).
I guess I have a philosophy. Nothing that particualarly makes sense and probably not a textbook case, I also have priorities. I judge the candidates/parties based on this criteria.

I'm anti-war unless it is absolutely necessary.
I'm anti-death penalty
The women have a right to choose, as long as it's within the first tri-mester or so (this is an unresearched opinion).
I'm pro-free market for the most part.
Essential needs should have some government protection (power, water etc)
I'm pro social health care with private optional.
Tax cuts do not win me over. If my taxes go up and I understand and agree with the reason, that's fine by me.

There's probably more, but these things are what most impact me at my current age. Obviously most of the above comes under the Democratic party in the US and I think Liberal Democrat in the UK.

Sounds like Canada.

Maybe I can be convinced to move to Montreal, the girls were so hot there. And they spoke French to, grrrrowll!
Yes, I am very objective. Try not to let emotion influence my decision making. I wouldn't go as far as to say it always works but I do strive for it.

My wife on the other hand............ -? -? -?
Emotions aren't the only influence on being objective though.
You have where and how you were raised, things that have happened to you in your life, people you have interacted with, places you have been to or not been to, other peoples opinions.
You will have ingrained beliefs of rights and wrongs because of these things.
Other people's opinions are just fine.

Providing they accept the fact they're wrong. Unless they agree with me.
