guess where I'm going on wednesday!!!!!!
(A clue.... this is not a democrat house....)
wink lol D
Oh heck... I'll edit to put you out of your misery... going to see the President at a rally in Lancaster!
Not that I'm a citizen, or can vote... but this is something I never thought I'd do, so I'm actually quite excited! Only thing is, we have to be up and out of the house by 5 am. I mean... is there life at that hour? o lol
Sounds fun. It's pretty weird being at these kinds of events. I saw the Prez in Buffalo a few months ago. Saw Edwards when he was doing his rounds too - good speaker if not an awful choice. And to make things funnier, I saw Nader the other night. He actually looks even more like a gecko in real life. Still, he's got alot of passion.

Make sure you keep you head down, wear a plain T-shirt, conservative dress and don't say anything or boo. And make sure you cheer and applaud when they hold up the signs.
I thought you Bungle were being the cheerleader for Edwards to be the Democratic nominee! I mean who would you have picked out of that bunch anyway? And don't say Al Sharpton... :P

Shouldn't that be 'Democrat house' or are you the opressive dictator of the Mich household? :D
Hope you are willing to sign a loyalty oath to the President . . .
(And if you are, how can I put this, I'm . . . errr . . .glad you can't vote. wink )
Yeah...my initial opinion was that as Kerry had severe problems early on with presentation and appeal that Edwards could help. His stump speech was/is still very compelling listening. I was always weary that his total lack of experience may have been a problem, but I plumped fro him anyway. He had the Bill Clinton factor of getting people motivated. But since being picked either Kerry has told him to shut it or his inexperience has begun to show. Now he's just creepy, far too shiny for his own good. I'm not comparing him at all to other VP's over the years at all either. He's just naff.

Ahhhh... it's wonderful being in charge!!!!!!! D lol D (Oh my gosh... the truth is I'm such a wimp, couldn't even dream of whacking and thwacking!!!! P 8) )

Why?
Weeeeelllll...
it really does seem to me that Kerry is a 'flip-flopper' as he's been called. From what I've seen/read/heard/ he does seem to change his mind too often for me to be comfortable with him.
I think he's made such a big thing about his service in Vietnam... not saying that anyone's service isn't worthwhile, but just because you served there, it doesn't make you a good choice for President. And if there is even just one minute grain of truth to all this swift boat stuff, then that's enough to plant doubt in me.
The pro-life thing is also a big issue for me.... I hated the way Kerry responded to that woman's question in the debate... "I respect your views" or whatever he said. I'm sorry, but at the time, that made me very mad with him, and I wanted to smash his head so badly! oops I mean, it was just too smarmy for words... and seemed as though he really did NOT care about her views... JMO.
Basically, it's just a general uncomfortable-ness with John Kerry. At least with Bill Clinton, he seemed like a normal-ish sort of person... even when I saw the news last night or the night before, when Kerry was watching the baseball game with whoever they were, and drinking beer... it seemed forced, as though he really didn't want to be there with "normal" (?) people.
Vibes... it's the vibes! P
Now Bush on the other hand... he's not the smoothest speaker... but I don't have the feeling that he's a dumbie. I don't think that going in, and capturing Sadam Hussein was a bad thing at all. I believe that country is going to be a whole lot better for it.
I have the feeling that Bush truly cares about people... just the way he acted around the families of the 911 victims.. I don't think he was that way just for photo ops.
The pro-life thing again... Bush is not for partial birth abortion. Neither am I. So that's a biggie for me. Oh, stem cell research... Bush is for restricting it somewhat. Yeah... and don't you think Kerry was just a little OTT when he stood in whatever meeting he was in and said... "If I were President, people like Christopher Reeve would get up and walk". (Or whatever his exact words were.. I don't think I've remembered them totally correctly). That struck me as being just totally arrogant... another time I wanted to smack him.
It seems to me that George Bush inherited a lot of Bill Clinton's problems - oh, like the deficit. Like.... I think probably there were some hints of the trouble coming on 911, which Bill didn't act on.
It's not just a "blind" thing for me... but I really can't keep going on and on, when it's near time for tea. wink
I've just watched/read etc etc and I just trust Bush. He may not be perfect, but he's okay, IMO. (I know.. not a very errr - educated(?) answer to your question, Moo... but maybe it's given you some idea of how I think?) wink
Okay... I'm off to the kitchen... anyone coming over here for tea? 8)
Tea and a loyalty pledge? How can I refuse?
