Hello,
I am from California, married to a Brit, living in Cheshire. We chose my living here as he has a 10 yr old daughter and doesnt want to leave until she is older. I love England, but my husband wants to live in the US. I belong to a US expat site here in the UK and thought I would check out the other end for him.
We are planning to move over to possibly Oregon in about 5 yrs, possibly sooner, so I want to get all the info possible on this. I also want to get Brits feelings on living in the states, both good and bad. I worry that we will spend the money and move and it will not live up to the 'fantasy' my husband has of the states. He sees it as a place with big V8 engines, big houses, big roads, new buildings and the streets are paved with gold. I, however, have a much more realistic view having grown up there.
He is also retraining here to be a plumber. I need to see how hard/easy it will be to transefer that to the states. How hard to get a contractors license and how to find all that info.
I hope you all dont mind the American on here. DH is not so good at getting on the sites as I am.
Cheers
Kelli
