Would you believe that somebody stole our presidential yard sign? I hammered it in to the front lawn Friday evening, and this morning it is gone.

I am sure it is wrong-minded kids, but still - what do they want, a one-party system? If you don't like my politics, go out and vote. Don't steal my effin yard sign.

Outrageous!
No they did not.... That's so funny. Do you have another to put on?
You can always put another one up with the words "Don't steal my effin' sign" scrawled underneath it. This will show you mean business. D
either that, or booby trap it.
How rude! I like dianey's idea lol
Its an epidemic here in Columbus, as well as bricks through windows, cars with bumper stickers smashed up. ( Actually one person covered theirs in syrup so the thieves might get a nasty shock...
Man, I'm glad I don't live in Columbus then!

Actually, we were thinking of getting another one, and we probably will this weekend. We should put it up closer to the house or maybe, as my wife suggested, nail it to the wall.

I really want to set up a video camera and monitor it to catch the little blighters, but I'm thinking that might just be a little over the top. Of course, this is Texas and you can safely assume that our choice of sign isn't exactly popular with the masses down here.

I want somebody to dream of doing something to my presbumpsticker on my truck. I'll intercept their dreams and haunt them like there's no tomorrow!
covering with syrup is a grand idea although the attracting orrible insects would lead me to think that covering it in transparent fly paper might be a slightley better version of the same thing.
A few years ago all the local kids (mine included roll ) would take all the signs for a candidate in the local elections.....her name was Jackie Moff (say that one quickly and you will realise why it amused the kids lol )There were a lot of stolen signs hidden in bedrooms around here with lots of giggly teenagers wink

The orrible insects were another deterrent to stealing - whos going to nick it with half a dozen wasps buzzing round it...? :D

Well a sign covered in syrup will probably have more than half a dozen wasps on it and could well be obscured by insects rendering it unreadable anyway. :)

our 2 signs got nicked last night. evil

Do you want me to sit out in a lawn chair, drinking beer and cleaning my collection of shotguns whilst smoking big cigars? Cause I can do that. :D

Isn't that just an average day for you? :D

This is what happens when you are unfortunately enough to live in a swing state. All those adverts turn them into a pack of wild animals.

Lucky for me, I live in a blinkered, stick in the mud state, where Bush is such a shoe-in neither side has bothered with any adverts on the TV at all. I am not exaggerating; I have not seen one Bush or Kerry ad on broadcast TV here in Texas at all (only seen a few on national cable stations without area specific advertising).

Having said that, I am pleased to live in South Austin, where Kerry signs predominate. Austin is the sole hold out against the Republican domination of Texas' larger cities.
