I often use this as a marinade for my beef and have always loved the flavour it gives. This weekend I cooked a roast dinner for some Texas friends and they remarked on the great taste and asked what it was so I explained but didnt realise hubby was not aware I was using his "Newkie"
He was horrified I had wasted his "good stuff" for cooking D roll

Now I have to restock wink
Sacrilidge..... x D
I keep meaning to make Guinness Steak pie, but can never bring myself to do it.
I prefer the alternative recipe, drink Guinness, eat a pie.

In regards to my roast, thats exactly what hubby said

I don't know. I mean, let's be honest here would anyone of us cook using domesic beer? I certainly wouldn't. When it comes making brats (which you cook in beer) I use Heineken for that. My take if you wouldn't drink it, why cook with it?
That sounds delish, cel! What did you serve with it? Taters and veg? I'm gonna have to try that myself. lol

That's where I've been going wrong.... I've been sending mine to school once I've made them.
Although beer probably played a small part in the making part. 8)

I'm with Beest on the beer/cooking thing.
