Unconfirmed, but I've heard it on good authority he has died today
cry
truly a sad day for all Derby fans if true, a legend
Just read it on Sky News.
Very sad, that man was a real character (
A very sad day for people who tell it like it is.
Shit. (
A true British legend. I admired him very much.
I always remember when a reporter once asked him what his team needed to do to win the game to which he relied, "score more goals than them."
He was a different class.
He was only 69!!! I hate to see clearly talented people sink into alcoholism which he apparently did in his latter years (thus the liver transplant a few years ago).
I learned about Clogh's death this afternoon, at a soccer game.....rather fitting. Sad news......love him or hate him, he was a great motivator, turning a couple of teams.......both Derby and Forest......from also-rans to champions. Both teams declined again after he had gone. He was outspoken, but he told it as he saw it, which is not always popular, but you always knew where he stood. God speed Brian Clough, you had the respect of many, many fans of the game, regardless of the team that they follow, and that is an something that would have made the old man proud. (
One of soccers greatest charaters .
Sorry to hear of his death .
The greatest England manager that never was. RIP Old Big 'Ead, the game is all the poorer without you.
I read that it was during his liver transplant that his stomach cancer was discovered. Ironic?
Of course it is sad to know of talented people who run the risk of early death through alcoholism....same for dangerous drivers, gluttons, smokers etc. etc.
An amazing character and a brilliant manager. He will be missed by all who love the game.
