Usually, I think they only offer two weeks so (supposedly) this is a one-off deal for friends of long-time members.

The price went up a couple of months ago to $21.99 a month but I still find it better than a rental store as the late charges never accumulate.

You do need to watch a couple of movies a week at least though, to really get your moneys-worth.

Still for a month free, it should be fun to cram in as many as you can. My record is about 12 in a week.

You need to careful with Netflix though. They usually start charging your credit card from day one and it is very difficult to get them to refund you for the time that was supposed to be your "free trial". Just keep an eye on your credit card bill and make sure you are not charged before your free trial period is up.
