The USCIS has released a statement saying that all photographs used for immigration paperwork should now be frontal rather than the 3/4 that we have been used to using.

This change goes into affect 1 Sept 2004. Current applications in the system not be affected. New applications on or after that date will not be accepted.

Not until September 1st? So the pictures they accepted last Tuesday for my I-551 were no good?

Or to put it another, less obtuse, way. I got my I-551 last Tuesday and the pictures were the new passport style.
