Anyone else here watching the women's football? I watch it quite often down at the local "Soccer Park" and the under 19s here are very good. Got me into watching the US women's national team about a year ago and I enjoy that. My wife asked me why women don't play in Premier League teams seeing as it isn't a contact sport (except of course for Julian Dicks entire career) and then she was shocked when I said I didn't think there were women in any Nationwide teams either. I do remember Scarborough had a female midfielder about 10 years ago but I don't think she ever actually played. And of course there

Does anyone object to an all-sexes football league? Anyone think women's footy is just crap anyway. Why doesn't anyone (the crowds at the Olympics are pathetic) watch female footy?
I used to referee the north west womens football league when I was in my yoof.
It was so much easier than the mens leagues cos it was like the women were playing for the fun of it rather than the blokes playing to win at all costs.
Less bickering and fouls and backchat with the women and more enjoyable to officiate.
Mia Hamm and Brandi Chastain. Grrrrr.

I'm sorry, there was more to that question?
I play co-ed soccer sometimes and we generally have one or two women that play pick-up each week.

I don't enjoy watching it though - I find the technical standard to be lower in general, with the exception of the women superstars of course.

"Soccer Park" is obviously Bungle for "Strip Club with a Sporting Fetish". Sounds more like Moo's thing.

Har de har.

And totally true. cry
Men and Women could never compete on the same team. Although technically proficient, women players don't have the power and strength so would get tackled far too easily.

Has anyone else noticed that despite how high the level of womens footie, the goalies are still really crap?
Exactly! I am yet to see a goalkeeper in women's soccer be able to catch or kick a ball.
When they dive for a shot, the ball either bobbles under them into the goal or they'll flap at it and it'll go through thier hands or something. They'd be better off just fielding an extra outfield player.
Yeah - experimental rush-goalies for womens games!
Hey, who says women can't play football?
