If so, will you be supporting Britian, the US, both or neither...?

Was rather funny... :D

The wife and I were talking about this the other day.

We watched the 1996 Olympics and thought how bad it was that the Amrican TV channels only covered events that had American athletes in them.
I actually remember watching an event where an American was in one of the qualifying heats but was not in the final so they didn't screen it.
Pretty sad really.
Yep, I'll be glued to the box/radio.

I'm sure Auntie will do as proud as ever.

you will find me at four in the morning watching the heats of the archery, badminton, tiddlewinks or whatever NBC deems worthy to show. At least this year they are actually showing most stuff live and not saving it until primetime when everybody has already found out the results. I'm just bracing myself for the cringeworthy 'human interest' stories that they are bound to pepper their coverage with. e.g "Bob Athelete has had a traumatic time preparing for the games because his cousin's girlfriend's uncle's dog died just three weeks befor the games started."
Excellent - hope there's plenty of soft, violin-led incidental music to really set off my emotions and draw me into the human interest story of Bob's extended family and pets. evil

Better get my NBC-issued bucket at the ready.....

Bob was born with no legs, in a small town in Ohio, his mother was so poor and his father left home before he was born but he persevered grew legs, train hard and qualified for the Olympics 100m race to represent the greatest country on earth.

Bob’s race starts, the camera focuses on Bob and Bob alone, its as if he is running a race all by himself.
:D

Oh Yeah, I know what you mean

You mean like the swimming last time with the two people who took about a week to swim 50 metres, but it was considered incredibly admirable because one had only just learned how to swim a few months ago, and the other swam in crocodile infested water.

You would have thought that if he trained in crocodile infested water he would have learnt to swim a little faster.

He did have an arm missing....

That must be worth a couple of violins........

Bob lost one of his arms to a crocodile. But he got his revenge. As you can see Bob is now wearing crocodile-skin swimming trunks.

...and when he lost both his legs and his other arm in another attack, he really did 'Bob'... :o

You guys are funny!

I'm not too bothered by it all, not interesting in the USA since they win shit loads anyway. And I don't even know what Britain has a chance in since I haven't been keeping track.

I liked watching Iraq beating Portugal in the footie though.
