Would you like to lose a few lbs?

If I could only lose 10 - 15 lbs... but try as I might, I can't go a couple of days without the very strong urge to eat cookies and/or chocolate. I don't crave anything else. Chocolate chip cookies are my downfall! Homemade or store bought, I don't care! Especially good with a cup of coffee! Is there any hope? wink

So, what do you struggle with when you're trying to lose poundage?
I read somewhere that it takes 14 days of consistent behaviour to create or change behaviours and/or habits. This is true for eating as well as other things. If you can resist the urge for 14 days to eat the cookies and chocolate, your body will get used to whatever you are eating in place of them and will start to crave those things instead. I have tried this in the past with cutting out certain foods and replacing them with something else and I am convinced that it works. Those first two weeks can be tough though and if you give in, you have to start the 14 days all over again, of course. I know this doesn't help much with resisting the urge for 2 weeks but, once you are over that hump, it should start to get a lot easier. I am not saying that this applies to chemical dependencies or addictions, just to everyday cravings and behaviours.
No, chocolate & cookies do absolutely nothing for me, but I wish they'd bring out a potato diet. Honestly I'd loose weight so easily if there was such a thing. Mind you, not chips/fries or chips/crisps, I can live without them no problem. I tasted Walkers crisps for the first time last Xmas ugh!!! bring back Tudor & Smith's. If I could have a baked potato every day with different toppings I'd die happy & hopefully skinny. lol
