We are going out for a drink this Friday to drown our disappointment over Beckham's foot! I heard there was an okay bar owned by some expats in the city somewhere - mail me if you will be around - would love to talk to some more Brits!!! gavinnathan@hotmail.com

Just moved to Quincy (south suburbs of Boston) - does anyone fancy meeting up for a pint...please no more "Irish" bars razz
Did anything ever come of this .. sounded like a great idea .. anyone interested in getting something sorted in the near future ?

Could do with a good old Brit Pub night out ..
Hi West Country girl - no, we never did make it out - but you're right, it would be great to have a Brit night. lol Where in Boston are you based?
Are any of you lot coming to the Britnet Jubilee bash next Sunday 28th? It's not that far from Boston; Mystic, CT just across the Rhode Island state border.

There are definitely a few coming from the Boston area...maybe you could car-pool?
I live in Davis Sq in Somerville .. First week I was here somebody took me to The Burren for a drink and decided I wanted to live in the area .. great pub has anyone else been .. ok so its another Irish Pub but this one is quite good, has a great atmosphere.

Can't make it to conneticut for the Jubilee but sure it will be a blast. I was actually back the UK for the Jubilee so did a bit of celebrating there.

Where are other people based .. is there a central location where we might try and set up a bit of a session. Anywhere on Redline works for me. Are there any more people that might be interested ..
Hi, I doubt whether Becky would ever answer this, she's my Wife (Ex-Wife to be) and moved back to the UK a couple of months ago, never to return. cry

I do however still live in the Area (Foxboro) and am mooching about in Boston on a fairly regular basis. I get all over the town depending upon who I'm with and what kind of day/night I'm looking for. I was there all day Saturday and ended up in a bit of a Sorry state wink.

I can't make it to the Jubilee Bash as I've got a 70's Party to go to in Detroit. I'm off to see an old mate from England who lives there.

I'm off to Montreal the last weekend in August and am supposed to be going Rafting in Maine another weekend in August.

Would be more than happy to meet up for a few Beers in Boston or the surrounding area. I also like Allston, there's a Restaurant there called The Sunset Grill which is the best Ale House and Food in the Boston Metro Area, IMHO. There are a few other good bars around as well. You gotta be prepared to put up with the Students though smile

Cheers

Richie smile

There's lots of Brits not too far from Detroit!

Been to the Sunset Grill once and quite liked it, also spent some time in the common ground just around the corner.

I tried out the rafting in Maine last year, only booked in for the first day as I wasn't sure that I would take to it thought it might be a bit scarey but absolutley loved it and ended up a bit disappointed that it wasn't any wilder so tried to get in on the second day but it was full. That will teach me for being cautious. There is another trip being organised for September but I am heading off to Munich for the Ocktoberfest so can't make it, maybe next year.

I am camping in Maine next weekend but think I am pretty much free for a while after that else maybe we could try a 'School night' if weekends prove to difficult.

Any thoughts ..
How about the following weekend - Saturday 3rd August - for a Brit-drink & poss a curry night out in Boston?? I'm quite new to the area but some of the pubs mentioned (above) sound great...... as would a decent chicken tikka masala razz
August is out for me.

The Weekend after Labor Day would be the best.

'School Nights' are bad too. i.e. Leave work at 530 = 90 Minutes to get into Boston and get Parked from Foxboro. To get home at reasonable hour I'd be saying Hello then Goodbye and that's about it.

I prefer a Saturday Night if Possible.

Cheers

P.S. Any chance we can get some 'Boy's' there, otherwise I'm going to spend the evening swapping Beauty Tips and coming home feeling like a Woman grin

I'll drive to Boston for CURRY =)
So far I've found nothing that even comes close in CT...
While I'm thinking about it.... are there any members in Vermont?
We go up there for the weekend once or twice a month and it just occured to me that there might be some Brit's up there too (it really does look like England)

Our cabin is in the middle of no-where and would be the perfect spot for fireworks, there's not a living soul but us for miles! ... As long as the cows and other local livestock don't call the cops...LOL
