Do you keep your fridge, freezer and pantry well stocked?
Or only shop when absolutely necessary and then buy enough to get you through to the next day/to the next paycheque?
Or only shop when the cupboard is bare then buy enough to keep you going for the next few months?

We're always full to bursting and ready for a nuclear war and I like to keep it that way. It's a rare day you can close the fridge or freezer without realigning stuff I think it comes from having lived with my Nana for most of my childhood, who always horded in case of another war.
We (that is I) shop about weekly for day to day and perishables. There's usually options for stuff to make and eat but we're not that organized and food is by no means luxury. It's all pretty much simple and quick to make stuff or conveniance.

I have to send at least half of my money to Canada so I shop only when I absolutely have to. Sounds pretty pathetic I know.... -?
We go shopping once /twice a week for the basics and about once a month stock up with the gournet and other items that round of the menu

central market and sams we buy in bulk and the fridge both in the kitchen and out in the garage is usually pretty full .

kitchen fridge for everyday items, garage fridge for frozen meats beer boxed and chilled wine , fresh milk , butter , oj and repeats of anything else .

The pantry is organized so as to show what item are getting low and which ones we have back stock .the oldest is pulled to the front and the new placed behind ,one shelf canned goods one shelf soups ,cat food , and prepared meals , top shelf is for packaged items stored by date freshness and onother is for drinks teas ,coffee , milk drinks , anothers is for items put in jars to prevent contanination , vegetables are in a cart that is wheeled out when required .

EXpensive and evening wines are displayed in a wine rack situated in the dinning room.
Once a month if that, with all the travelling no need for much food....always keep soda, chips and cookies on hand though.........
One day a week my fridge is full! o roll
Probably about half full most of the time. Shop once a week for 6 meals (my wife plans a menu because that's what incredibly anal engineers like to do) but shop throughout the week for bits and bobs. Have more bottles of sauces and things like that than anything else. Always like to have 2 or 3 cheeses to nibble on too. Right now my fridge is full of soon-to-be bowls full of pickling juices. We also make tomorrows lunches out of whatever we ate that day and keep them in containers.
Whats an anal engineer? o
Well, today it is bursting. I went to Costco yesterday, and took some seats out of the car, and took DS with me so that he could have a trolley to himself. Even then, I went a bit overboard.

Normally, I shop every 3 to 4 days for what we need, but with Sainsbury's and their special offers, it's easy to buy double of what you want, especially in the meat department.

With a household of 8, it easy to fill a fridge.

I'll probably run it down until there are no more meals to make, although I will have to send one of my slaves out for fresh milk before then.

A proctologist. :P

I know it's more expensive, but we usually by most meats and seafood products fresh. The only thing in the freezer section is my meat sauce and some chicken breasts.

Plenty of spare room in the fridge. Never buy pop drinks, beer or wine. Our favourite cold drinks are fruit juices. ( Cranberry, Grape and Orange)We shop once per week for bulk items and daily for most other items. We are so close to the stores and I do prefere fresh produce, especially at this time of the year.

We could easily get by with a fridge/freezer half the size.
Full fridge, freezer and cupboards in the kitchen!! Extra freezer in the garage that is half full of PG Tips and half full of stuff for those "last minute" BBQ's. Have a huge fridge in the garage too for beer and wine. I tend to horde food due to growing up poor, I think.

John, where on earth do you find the time to keep your cupboards so organized? Reminds me of when I worked in Marks and Sparks food department back in my college days and you had to "rotate" the stock. I hated doing the biscuits cos once you started moving them, they would all start rolling away and it was really hard getting the newer ones to stay at the back.
