Hi guys and gals - looking for info on the best place tp have a base on or near the med. Dont want the trashy tourist spots but want a genuine expat area for brits, aussies etc with lots of services. any ideas.

I don't know that you can find an large expat community close to everyday conveniences on the coast without it being in a tourist area.
A lot would alsodepend on what kind of services you are looking for.
Airport? highways? Stores that sell Britfood?
There a many many small towns and villages around tourist traps that will give you the Spanish lifestyle while being close to Brit things you may want.
I lived approx. 45 mins from Gerona 2 hours from Barcelona. Have spent a lot of time in the southern coast over a lot of years too.
If you want to be more specific with some about what exactly you are looking for I may be able to help further.
