Owen Hargreaves
Lennox Lewis
Greg Rusedski

And now may I introduce,

http//news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/oly...ics/3907555.stm

Granted the lad is a dual citizen, but when he went for the trials in Manchester, it was the first time he'd ever been to UK and is now taking someone else's place at the olympics.
Don't know about Rusedski or Lewis but Hargreaves' Dad was English so he's hardly a fraud.

If you (or I) have any American-born sons, I'm sure we'll be quite happy to have them instantly qualified to play for England.
But ... errrm.. don't you have some problem with the fact that the first time he stepped foot on British soil was to go to the time trials? It's not like he's been embracing his mother's homeland for years.....

considering how utterly toss at football I am, I'd be happy if he were able to get into the Madagascan team.

Wasn't it you I just booted out of Madagascar, in Global Combat? Even less options for Manc Junior now :(

same here

I couldn’t get the link to work but this sounds very similar to the little South African girl that used to run without shoes, can’t think of her name at the moment.

If I remember right she and one of the top American girls crashed into each other during a race and they both DNF. So it didn’t help us much cry

Zola Budd, thanks for that it was just beginning to annoy me (not remembering her name) she all of a sudden became English or British in order to run in the Olympics if I remember right even though previously she had visited our shores

All thanks to the wonderful Daily Mail campaign.....marvellous stuff
