As in the words of many posters expressed here in the thread on gay marriage.

*its private, no concern to anybody else and its consenting adults *there fore there should be no reason that poligamy should nto be made legal following the same reasoning as was put forward for gay marriage .

Then of course follows incest between adults as it also is* personal no body else bisiness and its consentual *

And after all poligamy is praticed in many societies other than ours who are we to moralize ??? .

I had some polygamists in a class I was taking, sorry they are completely loopy. Women have no voice, teenagers forces into marriages not of their choosing. That definitely is not healthy no matter where you get your morals from.
The only reason I don't practise polygamy is that I have trouble enough with one woman in my life. wink
Here's a comment from some one claiming to know at least one of the Utah polygamists - from the discussion board on the A&E website: -

Inside Polygamy
I have to say I watched in horor Inside Polygamy to my disgust it was my old neighbor Jim Harmston! He taught us in church.. yes the Mormon religion (that I no longer and never did believe in). The aspect of the represion of women to have to share their husband and live in poverty. What message are we sending not only to violate the laws of the land, but to the children that have been and are still being brain washed and in some cases sexually abused? I know first hand about this abuse. Seeing Jim proclaiming he is a prophet was so transparent. Why can't others see through this sexual fantasy?

It's all well and good when "sane" adults decide that this is the way they want to live but as eastendboy pointed out, there's seems to be a lot more abuse that goes on in these types of households...
