There are quite a few Brits there. I lived in Weehawken for about 4 years (next town over) until I recently moved out to the sticks.
Go to Mulligans for the next England game and you're sure to encounter a few British accents. Welcome to Jersey and best of luck..
Hola,
I live in NJ, about 40 mins from Hoboken.
Hoboken is definitely more fun than the town that I live in.
I live in Passaic county, about 30 mins from Hoboken. Been here 4 years almost, moved over when I was 21. My husband went to uni in Hoboken (in fact, it's where we met) so we go there quite a lot. How long are you here for? What do you do?
Moi - there you are!! I'm practically next door to you now! We should meet up and my hubby (I promoted him) and yours can talk about football again! D
Mrs. Stelesque, no prob. We defintiely should arrange something, there is a nice pub with an outdoor patio up near us, met a couple of British lads in there from Essex. What town are you living in now?
Yes - lots of British and other Europeans in Hoboken.....have you noticed that you can get proper Brit chocolate, Heinz bake beans and other treats in the local super market!
I am in the wrong part of NJ obviously... altho a little deli in Wildwood does have beans and marrowfat peas (yippee!) (and choccie) at the mo cos of all the Irish kids working here for the summer.

Hi we have just moved from Fulham in London to Saddle River which is near the NY border up route 17.
Currently having issues finding nice bar's to go to. Any ideas in this area ?
Also on the food thing, I finally found Ribena in our local A&P along with Ambrosia custard, rich tea biscuits and UK chocolate. They have a little section of UK foods, so there must be a few of us up here! D
If you find any good pubs or shops, please add them here

Welcome to Britnet D
Are are some decent pubs in Hoboken, and of course in NYC (dbas (lower east side), The Ginger Man (near Empire State Building), etc.), but I'm not sure about the Saddle River area. There is a good English pub in Milford, NJ, near the border with Pennsylvania. Yep, I know it's far from you, but it is well worth the trip to have some nice English ales. I have been there a few times (I also live far from it) and it was great. The URL is http//www.shipinn.com.

Yeh, the ship inn is fantastic, and they do a great bonfire night.
You have to book in advance, but there is more food than you know what to do with, fireworks and the burning of the guy.
Last year there was sausage rolls and home made trifle.
Great fun.
Will be going again this year if anybody is interested.

Their Booze may be good, but their Fish & Chips are the not too good to say the least. Definitly not in the Argyles of Kearny class.
