The US government is planning to fingerprint EU citizens Below is the story on yahoo.co.uk

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States has decided to fingerprint and photograph visitors from about 27 nations that do not require U.S. visas, including citizens of close allies like Britain, a U.S. official says.

The official, who asked not to be named, said on Friday the visitors would be fingerprinted and photographed on arrival in the United States, extending a requirement already imposed on citizens of other nations that do require U.S. visas.

I've had this done 4 times already as I make regular trips back to the UK - it's no big deal, just adds an extra 30 seconds on to the processing tim in immigration. There are no additional questions or anything else other than the fingerpriting, which is electronic so you don't get dirty hands and the photo.
