So, is anybody going to be listening to "Air America" now that the left wing nutters have their own talk radio station to rival the right wing nutters. Don't think that I can receive it up in the wilds of New Hampshire and I was disappointed that their website doesn't appear to have live streaming. The Al Franken show should be funny at least but somehow I can't imagine a Liberal rant jock.
Every other year, some Liberal, or left wing Socialist will have his day of infamy on one of the 'never listened to' air stations in Los Angeles, hoping to get listeners, at least to listen to the commercials, they last about two weeks. The most infamous Lib babble rant jock was Michael Jackson, (no not THE M.J.) he was an ex-Brit, who babbled on and on with his 'cultured Brit accent' as the locals called it, but he said nothing. He has returned every two years and lasts about two weeks, then retires again into obscurity. Maybe Al Franken will have a more diverse audience, after voicing his open hatred of Fox news. -?
Don't they have anything middle of the road. Talk Radio in the UK used to be excellent.

The whole Left/Right thing is just boring the tits off me recently
Who the heck is Ray Masters? he is another British accented fool blabbering on the radio at the wee hours.
The only decent talk radio host I like is Dave Ramsey.
You can call NPR left-slanting if you like but it is by no means as in your face as the AM stations that host the political shock jocks. NPR has alot of actual SHOWS too - like Car Talk, or Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. I like to listne to the local AM station in the morning which is openly right-leaning but is the only loca lstation to deal with local issues. But Limbaugh comes on at 12 and he bores the tits off me (sample - "see I was rightagain ladies and gentlemen, those god damned liberals did it..").
To be honest I prefer to search through my AM dial for a Canadian Talk radio channel.
And yeah TalkRadio/TalkSport was excellent in the UK. I would leave it on all night while I slept - some great DJ's like Mike Dickin, Hawksbee nad Jacobs, Caesar, Ash (the better half on James Whale's show) and the excellent Ian Collins.
and the excellent Ian Collins.
He was fantastic.
Listened to him every night.
Anyone ever have the pleasure of James Stannage? He was just local to Manchester/Northwest on Piccadilly 1152 and more recently Key 103.?
I liked Mike Dickin. It did get more interesting in the wee morning hours....
I remember quite enjoying listening to a chap called Brian Hayes but I can't remember the channel. He seemed to know what he was talking about.

Is that a joke name, like Hugh Jazz or Mike Hunt?
I am an avid NPR listener, appears to be the only sensible talk based show on Radio, I was astounded when I heard it was considered liberal. I thought it was just a station that covered stories and situations from a perspective that nobody else did. They have people from both sides and there is no mud slinging, swearing or screaming, just thoughtful commentary.
I have tried to find something relatedto current affairs worth watching on TV but cannot. They all appear to be completely stark raving mad. Shows like Scarborough Country and the O'Reilly Factor and MSNBC news are so full of right wing bias they look like they would give Bush a blowjob if asked.
Hitler is made to look kind and cuddly compared to these morons. Unfortunately what is more worrying is that they have a large head nodding in agreement viewer base.
Have to admit the funniest show on tv is the Bill Maher show where he grills some poor GOP adviser, columnist, speech writer and mocks them about Bush's apparent inability to maintain a coherent thought in his head.
I don't know why NPR is considered 'liberal' or come to that why any of the mainstream media is supposed to be 'liberal'. Equally I don't know why Fox news is supposed to be to the right. Maybe its people on the 'right of right wing' calling it liberal because it doesn't fit into their view of the world.

Bill Maher does give Bush a 'Blow Job' twice a week, so he can have permission to give a few snide remarks to the more intelligent members of the Grand Old Party, the other Party wouldn't be able to comprehend.
