Thought I'd better introduce myself before I do any more postings!
I live in Connecticut with husband, Mike and daughter, Lucy. Been here 12 months now and it's getting better all the time. Dreadfully homesick at first...no car, one friend who worked full time...the only person we'd see all day would be the mailman! Got Lucy into a pre-school and developed a routine (of sorts). I chatter to people in the shops, at the library, at the Dr's......consequently I now have quite a collection of phone numbers and new friends!
We bought a "fixer-upper" house, much bigger than what we had in the UK, and are gradually doing it up. I decide on the colour scheme and decor and Mike does the rest. He's quite happy with this arrangement as long as I keep him supplied with coffee, beer, food etc.
We came over here on a company relocation and we are applying for the green card. I have quite got out of the habit of working now (not sure if that's a good thing) so am in no hurry to look for a job when the time comes. Maybe when Lucy gets of an age where she can let herself in after school....we'll see!
