Just read something about someone going to Fuddruckers for an Ostrich burger and it reminded me that I'd had one. And very nice it was too. And it's much lower in fat than ground-beef. In fact I think I like Ostrich more than the beef. Apparently the Buffalo is as good-or better too.

Anyone else tried an Ostrich or Buffalo burger? I say more of them just for the health aspect.

Much better than cow brain sandwiches. That's just asking for CJD.

Edited for wrong link. Oops.
I once went to a restaurant in Johannesburg that did all sorts of weird foods and you went to a kind of buffet and tried them all. Amongst other things, I remember having ostrich but I can't really remember much about how they tasted.
A friend brought ostrich steaks to a camping trip a couple years ago and they were excellent. Tender, no fat and not gamey tasting at all.
Had Ostrich curry a couple of times - was pretty good too.
They do Buffalo just up the road from work, had to have one one day, can't say I noticed a particular difference from beef though.
Love buffalo, but you have to be careful not to overcook it as it goes leathery. Haven't found ostrich yet but will try it as soon as I do. D
Just went out and had a Fuddruckers Ostrich Burger and figured out exactly the right way to describe it. Taste very much like beef tenderloin accept it's light.

Yummy.
So this is how the unemployed live huh? Ostrich burgers and such?

Must be nice... wink
