The man in the dirty mac has been given his P45.
I say buy stocks in satellite radio (well someone else did - I'm just relaying iy!) Stern says he will start a satellite radio company - and he isn't the only shock-jock to get fired. Apparently the Janet Jackson fiasco has led media companies to censor. So that will lead to more "edgy" stuff removing itsefll from censored mediums like FCC controlled radio and tv.

And I think Stern is crap by the way.
Once again the puritian moralistic right has reared its ugly head .

Howard Stern is not for everyone but there is enought stuff on the radio waves to satisfy all tastes .

I am a Howard Stern fan from way back having all his tapes .films ,books and listen when ever i can ( hard to get reception here ) and watch his late night programe on E channel

I agree he is a little childish at times with toilet humor and a fixation on the female breast , but his show is a breath of fresh air on a medium that is so banel and filled with announcers /entertainers /djs that are just a puppet for some other voice and dont have any persona of thier own .
the offending remarks was a interview with paris hiltons ( who has,nt heard of her exploits ) boyfriend and a referance to wether he had* done it* with any african american girl not quite a profound and pc conversation ,but who wants to here about the nasty world of politics when drinking morning coffee ,plenty of time and opportunity for that later ..on all channels .

If you dont like him DONT LISTEN /WATCH him there are plenty of shows that I find distastfull on TV /Radio airing at all times of the day ..

what do i ?? turn to another channel .
Would i propose having them banned NO to each his own .

Well thats my opinion any way .

Ill bet though we will hear negative opinions of his show here and on other mediums by folks who have never heard him as seems to be the norm in situations like this ...
Do you reckon if I call and complain that there's a facist junkie polluting my airways we can get Mush Limbaugh off the air?

This is a worrying trend. Obscenity is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder.
I second that, and for that knobend Savage.
I don't know what Savage says. All I know is that he's screaming it like a socially inept fule.

I never listened to Stern (he is banned in Colorado for making fun of Columbine) but it sounds as if he didn't say the "n" word. So why fire him?

You are correct Mark :-) this censorship ( we know better than you whats good for you ) is frightening .

Ad to the list of ( folks who should be banned) if we took that road .

Tele evengelist who with their holier than thou smile rip of nieve listeners with promises they cant forfill .

Self appointed bigots that declare that they (speak for a certain minority) with out ever been elected or asked to do so .

Any folks /org that wants to ban something .

Hang on a minute - aren't they the same folks that want to amend the Constitution to outlaw gay marriages?

Censorship seems a little bizarre considering the 1st amendment and the fact that these are generally adult-aimed programs. Still, I'd love to see absolute idiots like Mike "i hope gays die of aids" Savage get sacked when his boss finally figures out he's a white supremacist.

Still, I think everyone should be allowed to say whatever they like, that includes mewling cabbages like Savage. It's his audience I wonder about.

Having said that, anyone see the Daily Show the other night with John Podhoretz? Stewart looked really irritated by his audience trying laugh Podhoretz out of the room. The whole left/right hate thing is really annoying me right now.

Yes.

I thought JS was trying hard to be fair and did a pretty good job.

It's like why on earth can't other people ask straight up questions of people, like he did on that (albeit short) interview. Although the guy gave me the creeps, I feel the audience should play fair as obviously JS is trying to balance things out a little.

Couldn't believe when that guy said he was 42 though. Thought he was much older.

I won't be rushing out to buy his book though.

It would appear that howard Stern was too raunchy for Clear Channel which is as i type is running it's usual competition offering as the prize , dinner and a BJ.
I guess they don't find that offensive D
I can't abide Howard Stern - he makes me want to throw up - but then again so do the tele (let's see how quickly I can ask you for money) evangelists. Fairs fair - freedom of speech (in this case, airwaves) for all.
