This weekend was a movie marathon of really good movies. All of them.
Lost in translation, everyone should watch. Visually satisfying if not mystifying at times. Wonderful movie.
Swimming Pool, Charlotte Rampling, now in her 50's still hasn't eaten a decent meal more than once a week and qualifies as the uber super model of her age. The story is amazing and the two young actresses playing the one person make the movie totally twisted.
Dead Man, well that's Johnny Depp. and Alfred Molina, and Gabriel Byrne, and Billy Bob Thornton and the guy from Edge of Darkness and just a wonderful movie in B&W and funny.
What a great weekend viewing, now regrettably, the Grammys. Yikes. What a plunge into reality as it is known via the networks!
I must say I wasn't really impressed with Lost In Translation. After all the good reviews, I found it rather dull and not very funny either. I mean it wasn't bad, but I don't think it was worthy of all the hype it got.
It was a kinda damp weekend here so all yard work was given a pass .
did see some movies from netflix thou .

Blackout .
Immortality .
INTIMACY good film ( deep look into human relationships ) apart from the hype over the sex scenes , which are very brief but do fit in to the story .

Best film i saw Charlotte Rampling in was Night porter and she is still making good ones .
I FINALLY managed to see Band Of Brothers DVD 1. I was really surprised, it was much better than I thought it would be. Recommend this to anyone who is remotely interested.

Dead man is one of my favourite films. A true undiscovered classic. Full of wonderful acting, dark humor and a hauniting Neil Young soundtrack. Probably one of those films that you either love or hate.
I loved the guy who played the Indian who looked after depps character, his name is not springing to mind as I'd hoped. Apparently the movie has been re issued with a Gold rating, more interviews and wot not i guess. I also loved Billy Bob Thornton, he was a classic cameo. As you say, a wonderful movie.
Yep, Band of Brothers is excellent, I was really impressed.

Best film we've seen recently is "Office Space"....very funny that one.
