rented this DVD from netflix, it's made by the Independent Film Channel, so it may have been a TV series originally. Bloody good. All the 70's movie makers, actors and the handful of actresses, as one said, in the 70's you were limited to prostitute, wife or victim, no other roles for women. It really is an eye opener as how to the M in movie making no longer stands for Movie but Marketing, merchandise and money. If they don't make their money back in the first few weeks they won't invest, hence the sequels of really crappy movies that abound.
Lots of clips of good movies too and newsreel of Nixon and others. All in all a very good evenings entertainment, and a whole list of movies I missed back then to catch up on.
Felt chuffed though, actually watched, Dog day afternoon a few weeks back, and wondered why i missed it first time around.
Also watched the male actors carefully rating who grew into his face and looks better now than he did when young. Actors who did, De Niro, Pacino, actor who definitely didn't, Dreyfuss, now he's just spooky.
