i don't remember the progam that well, but how sad that no one introduced him to something to cheer him up. I guess the autopsy wiil only tell what he took, not what the disease was. What a shame! cry

Reading that I am not sure they have their facts quite right. They are saying that Reg Varney is 87 and living in Devon - I thought he died years ago.... They also said that the chap that played the inspector is 67 - making him 20 years younger than Reg Varney - that can't be right, can it?
By that reckoning he was only 37 when he was on On the Buses and RV was 57. He does not look 57 in that photo...
Sorry about the one who committed suicide though - it's a terrible thing when someone gets to the point where they feel that there is absolutely no reason to live cry

Reg varney STILL lives in Dartmouth, Devon. Don't write him off yet KentGirl )
And it is correct - Stephen Lewis (Smiler in Last of the Summer Wine and Blakey in On The Buses) is 20 years younger than Reg.

Bizarre, isn't it!
In "Steptoe and Son" the guy who played Albert Steptoe (Wilfred Bramble) was younger in real life than Harry H. Corbett who played his son Harold!!!
Very sad Bob Grant was compelled to take his own life. I remember watching OTB when I was a child. I found it very amusing then. Not sure how I'd feel about it now though....it was rather sexist! Perhaps it will be shown again on BBCAmerica! wink
