I've got the greatest respect for Tony, as many others have.
(Great servant to his club, loyalty and all that.)
But this is too soon.
He's halfway through doing a sports science degree at Uni, plus I'm not sure if he's got his full F.A coaching badge yet.
Wouldn't it be better for him to assist John Gorman and learn the ropes rather than the other way round ?
This is the strange thing about football - it doesn't have the same rules as a normal job or working life. -
You manage a team of people that get paid 4 times what you do and if any of them make a mistake you are the one who gets fired !
Plus - one of your team can become a Manager without any experience of that job and take the position away from someone who has been a Manager for at least 10 years (John Gorman)
