any thoughts?

anyone give a toss?

Go LIONS! (like go get a decent running back, offensive line, so decent wide receivers for Joey to throw to........)
I remember when I was about 16 or 17, American football started to be shown on tv in the UK, on channel 4 if I remember. What I didn't know at the time was that the tv execs were cutting out all the timeouts, tv timeouts and endless commercial breaks so that the game would fit into a one hour slot. It was pretty good tv.

When I got to the states I almost fell asleep during each 3 hour saga! Gradually though (and this has everything to do with living in Wisconsin for 6 years) I started to enjoy the game. I now understand the nuances and appreciate the breaks in order to go to the bathroom/fridge/bbq without missing any of the game.

I have even been to one home game (at Green Bay, tickets like gold dust), and two road games (Tampa and Tennessee). I have two road trips planned this year (Phoenix and St. Louis).

I enjoy American Football so much now that I signed up for Direct Tv's Sunday Ticket so that I can watch every Packer game while living in Colorado.

It's not the beautiful game, but its not quite as ugly as I once thought.

GO GREEN BAY PACKERS!
I fall in your second category....not giving a toss.
I grew up as a Dolphins fan and then moved to Buffalo. And I was ashamed to say that 3 years ago I "caught" the buzz for the Bills. Now I once again crazy about NFL Football and am really looking forward to this year. The Bills have really pumped up their defense, no more crapola there! And with Bledsoe we will always have a great offense.

As for the Dolphins fan thing, I was young. Heck, my dad was a Bengal's fan so you can blame him.
I started to give a toss last year. It's tough being in Dallas though because the Cowboys suck, but you have to support your local team. I'll watch as many games on TV as I can, but I'm really more in to college ball than NFL. The games are so much better.

I went to a game at Texas A&M last year. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had watching sports.
I give a toss my team opened the season last night.(Redskins)
And i have nfl ticket meaning i can see any game i wish on sunday .....
Well -- this year the Eagles have the new Linc ! P

Monday night football starts with the repeat of the disastrous Jan game...

and I'll watch it with a drink in my hand (because it's my birthday too).

Other than that -- I really haven't given it much thought!!!!! wink

Ahhhh - little Joey Harrington, the Ducks cry-baby quarterback.

The Beavs fans had a lot of fun winding him up a couple of years back but I suppose he had the last laugh, going on to Detroit. Still strange though as our walk-on quarterback was miles better that season so I suspect it was more down to Harrington being selected a while back for NFL, while our walk-on was never in consideration for NFL. He is an intern at OSU now, training our current quaterbacks so he may get there yet....

NFL - I watch to see how the Seahawks are doing but wouldn't bother watching any of the games.

Me too. To quote a famous Englishman, "I would rather go to Cornwall, marry a pig, have 13 children by her and see them all become members of Parliament. I would rather hack off my big toe, slice it, mix it with beetroot and serve it to the poor folk of Clapham as a light summer salad. Ask me if you wish, to bury my face between the buttocks of a flatulent baboon ..."

but don't ask me to watch NFL.
